Nevada Athletics presents its Give Back Like Jack Community Service Awards annually to the student-athlete and staff member who best exemplify the dedication to community service that was the hallmark of longtime Reno and Sparks philanthropist Jack Reviglio's life.
Â
"Christian and Janet are two great examples of the commitment to serving our community that is part of the fabric of Wolf Pack Athletics and part of the legacy of Jack Reviglio and his family," said senior associate athletics director
Rhonda Lundin Bennett. "Christian has done a great job working with disabled students who might not otherwise get the chance to experience college life, while Janet is always the first to offer a helping hand to everyone in our department as well as to her church and family. I can't think of two more deserving recipients of our prestigious Give Back Like Jack Award."

A senior defensive back from Compton, Calif., Swint spent the year volunteering with Path to Independence in the University of Nevada's Center for Excellence in Disabilities. Path to Independence is a program for students with intellectual disabilities to attend college and earn a certificate. He provided support to a student in the program by attending art class with her twice a week and helping her with all of her assignments and presentations. Swint also served as a job coach to another student who had an internship sanitizing in the Knowledge Center, helping the student to create a checklist, songs and sayings to memorize their duties. He also helped teach the student social skills to interact with, greet and direct the public and co-workers. He also hosted a lunch group twice a week for all Path to Independence students and attended men's and women's basketball games with them. According to his supervisor, he treated these students with so much respect and kindness and helped them gain confidence. A few of them said that these social opportunities were their favorite part of college.

A valuable member of the Wolf Pack staff since 2011, May staffs the Legacy Hall front desk and is often the first person members of the community interact with when they visit the building or call Wolf Pack Athletics. She is helpful and friendly and a great ambassador for Wolf Pack Athletics. She is often the first staff member to volunteer at games or when there is a project that needs to be done or an errand that needs to be run. May and her husband, Bob, are also active volunteers in many projects and activities throughout the year at Grace Church Reno.

The winners will each receive a plaque commemorating the honor, while a plaque honoring all recipients is displayed prominently in the Hall of Champions at Legacy Hall. More information about Nevada's community service efforts and the Give Back Like Jack Award can be found
