RENO, Nev. – Nevada Women's Basketball announced the addition of guard Gabby Giuffre (La Selva Beach, Calif. / San Diego / Aptos HS) Monday.
Giuffre, a 5-foot-11 guard, transfers to Nevada after spending the past two seasons at San Diego, where she appeared in 45 games for the Toreros. The La Selva Beach, Calif., native scored a career-high 11 points against Arizona State during her freshman campaign (2020-21), when she saw action in 15 contests.
"We are thrilled to welcome Gabby to our Pack. Gabby is a versatile guard who can play multiple positions," said head coach
Amanda Levens. "We recruited her out of high school and are excited for the opportunity to have her join our program now. Our community will be excited to see Gabby impact our team next season."
Giuffre attended USA Basketball's U16 Team trials in 2018, highlighting a prep career at Aptos High School during which she helped the Mariners to three CIF Central Coast Section titles (2017, 2019, 2020) and a third title-game appearance (2018). The Mariners advanced to the CIF NorCal Division III regional quarterfinals in 2017 and 2018, and made the semifinals in 2020.
She was a four-time All-Santa Cruz County Athletic League (SCCAL) selection, twice being named to the First Team (2019-20).
A dual-sport standout at Aptos, Giuffre helped the Mariner volleyball team to a CCS title-game appearance in fall 2018.
