RENO, Nev. – The Nevada football team has announced the addition of a future home game against Georgia Southern on Saturday, Sep. 7, 2024.
 
Nevada faces Georgia Southern for the third time in program history. This game is added to a non-conference schedule that features a matchup at Minnesota on Sep. 14, 2024. It's an addition to the non-conference schedule over the next five seasons that includes New Mexico State (2022), Texas State (2022), Iowa (2022), USC (2023), and UCLA (2026).

Nevada and Georgia Southern have matched up two times in series history. The Pack last faced the Eagles in the 1990 1-AA National Championship and fell 36-13. The first time these two teams kicked off was in 1986 during the 1-AA Playoffs in Reno, Nev., with Nevada falling 48-38. Georgia Southern is a member of the Sun Belt Conference that went 3-9 overall and 2-6 in conference play in 2021. The Eagles also list non-conference games against Boise State and at Ole Miss in 2024.
