LOGAN, Utah -Â Nevada completed a perfect opening weekend of Mountain West play Sunday, defeating Utah State, 4-1, in Logan.
Two days after beating Boise State, Nevada (14-6, 2-0 MW) rolled against the Aggies. The Pack took the doubles point with wins of 6-4 from the tandems of
Loris Zisswiller and
Satchel Benn, and
Juan Batalla and
Daniel Dudockin.
Utah State (7-10, 1-1 MW) evened the match at 1-1 with the first singles win, but the Pack answered with three-straight wins to end things.
Matheo Coupu, at No. 1, beat Bodin Zarkovic, 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 to put the Pack ahead for good, and wins from Benn at No. 4 (0-6, 6-3, 6-2 over Felipe Acosta) and Dudockin at No. 5 (6-3, 3-6, 6-2 over Roko Savin) finished off the victory.
Nevada hosts New Mexico next Friday, April 8, at 1 p.m. in its Mountain West home opener before traveling to Air Force to close the weekend, Sunday, April 10.
