FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Nevada finished the second day at the NCAA Zone E Diving Championships on Tuesday afternoon. Laura Isabel Vazquez Lopez, Linnea Sorensen, Lucia Gabino, and Bailey Heydra represented the Pack in the 3-meter springboard.
Vazquez Lopez finished in the top 18 during prelims, which led her to a spot in the final. In the prelims, the senior scored 294.55 points to finish in 13th place. In the afternoon, Vazquez, with a final score of 584.35, finished in 15th place overall. Only the top five divers qualified for the NCAA Championships.
Sorensen, Gabino, and Heydra wrapped up their event participation in the prelims. Sorensen finished her diving career in 23rd place, with a score of 259.90. While Gabino and Heydra were placed 28th and 30th, with scores of 250.25 and 249.20.
The Nevada divers will be back tomorrow, Wednesday, for the platform event on the final day of the NCAA Zone E Diving Championships. The prelims will be starting at 10:30 a.m., with finals being 15 minutes after the end of the morning session.
