EWA BEACH, Hawaii – Nevada women's golf travels to Hawaii to compete in the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational at Hoakalei Country Club on Monday and Tuesday.

The Pack most recently finished ninth in the Gunrock Invitational at Del Paso Country Club in Sacramento, Calif. That finish was on the heels of a second-place finish at The Show at Spanish trail in the opening tournament of the spring season. Leah John claimed her first individual tournament win in her career at Nevada.

"We are excited to get back at it next week," said Head Coach Kathleen Takaishi. "The weather and views should be great, and the team is playing well. They should have a lot of confidence going into this event after our last two tournaments."

Despite the ninth-place finish in their most recent tournament, Nevada's 876 was tied for the third-lowest 54-hole tournament in program history with the Coeur d'Alene Collegiate Invitational during the 2019-20 season. The Pack posted the second-lowest 54-hole team score in program history (873) at The Show at Spanish Trail hosted by UNLV on Feb. 15 to open spring.

This marks the first appearance in the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational in program history. Nevada is one of 10 teams competing in the tournament, that will span two days, joining hosts Hawai'i and Cal Baptist, Grand Canyon, Gonzaga, Long Beach State, Louisiana-Monroe, Sacramento State, UC Riverside, and Wyoming to round out the field.

Nevada has put together a lineup of five golfers with the quintet of Leah John, Victoria Gailey, Anitra Khoth, Kaitlin Fleiner, and Kayla Nocum making up the team entry.

The Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational dates to 1986 and has been played in the Kane'ohe Klipper Course for most of its existence.

The 54-hole tournament gets underway with a shotgun start at 10:45 a.m. (PST) on both days.
