UP NEXT
A win for the Pack Monday would send it to Tuesday's semifinal, where it would face an opponent to be determined at 5 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT
Nevada closed the regular season on a winning note, and evened the season series against its in-state rival with a 71-64 victory at UNLV March 2.
The Pack recovered from a slow start and steadily chipped away at the Lady Rebels, eventually taking a 48-47 lead into the fourth quarter. There, Nia Alexander, who scored a career-high 26 points with eight rebounds in the contest, scored nine points, including a stretch of six-straight which helped Nevada stretch its lead to 11 at 62-51.
Along with Alexander's solid outing, Kylie Jimenez finished with 12 points, eight rebounds, and five steals, while Amaya West also scored in double figures, with 10 points.
SCOUTING AIR FORCE
Air Force (17-12, 11-7 MW) put together its best regular season under head coach Chris Gobrecht, claiming the No. 5 seed at the conference tournament. The Falcons enter Monday's quarterfinal winners of four of their last five.
Riley Snyder leads the Falcons with 15.4 points per game and 41 3-pointers, while Cierra Winters (11.4 ppg, 3.3 rpg) also averages double figures in scoring. As a team, the Falcons average 11.3 steals per game.
Nevada swept the season series against Air Force, beating the Falcons, 67-52, in the team's Mountain West opener Dec. 28, then grabbing a 40-39 victory Jan. 24 at the Academy.
PACK TRIO HONORED ON MW POSTSEASON TEAMS
The All-Mountain West Teams and awards were announced Sunday morning, and the Wolf Pack had three players recognized.
Senior guard Da'Ja Hamilton was named to the All-Mountain West Team for the second-straight season after averaging 15.3 points per game in conference play, seventh-best in the loop. With the honor, Hamilton becomes the first Wolf Pack member to be twice-named to the All-Mountain West Team, and the second to earn two nods (Danika Sharp was named to the Second Team in 2014, and honorable mention in 2013, before the conference went to a 10-player team).
Audrey Roden was named to the Mountain West All-Freshman Team. In her debut Mountain West campaign, Roden averaged 9.8 points and 3.7 rebounds per game, and led Nevada with 28 3-pointers, shooting 38.9 percent from behind the arc.
Redshirt sophomore Aly Jimenez was named to the Mountain West All-Defensive Team, becoming just the second Wolf Pack player to be named to that squad, in program history (joining two-time honoree Mimi Munged, 2014-15). Aly, who posted 26 steals in Mountain West play, was a big part of a Pack defense which held conference opponents to 62.0 points per game, third-best in the conference.
NEVADA AT THE MOUNTAIN WEST TOURNAMENT
This week's Air Force Reserve Mountain West Championship will be the 10th for Nevada, since joining the conference in 2012-13. The Wolf Pack has an all-time record of 7-9, with one title-game appearance (2018).
Under Amanda Levens, Nevada is 5-4 over four tournaments, and has won at least one game in three of the previous four events (2018-20).
