SACRAMENTO, Calif. -Â Nevada wrapped its weekend at the Golden Gate Invitational in Sacramento with a 4-1 win in the fifth-place match against New Mexico State. It concluded a 2-1 weekend, with two-straight wins after an event-opening loss to host Sacramento State.
The Pack (11-4), off to its best start since also being 11-4 in 2017-18, hosts its final two non-conference matches at McArthur Tennis Center next weekend. The weekend begins Saturday at 1 p.m. against Pacific, followed Sunday at noon against Denver.
Saturday in Sacramento, the Pack came back from dropping the doubles point to the Aggies. Once again, the back end of the lineup came up with big wins, with
Ambroise Marchand beating Gijs Akkermans, 7-5, 6-2, at No. 5, and
Loris Zisswiller picking up a match victory of 7-5, 6-2, this one over Luca Fe d'Ostiani at No. 6.
Nevada wrapped up the win at Nos. 2 and 3, with
Juan Batalla defeating Martin Simecek, 6-3, 6-1, at No. 2, and
Delmas N'Tcha racking up a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Corey Clarke at No. 3.
