SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Nevada split the first day of the Golden Gate Invitational in Sacramento, Friday, rebounding from an opening 5-0 loss to host Sacramento State to defeat Pacific, 4-2, in its second match.

Nevada (10-5) will close weekend action at the event in Saturday's fifth-place match, against New Mexico State, at 10 a.m.

Friday, the Pack did well to bounce back from the morning loss to the Hornets. Against Pacific, Nevada grabbed the doubles point thanks to wins from the tandems of Satchel Benn and Loris Zisswiller at No. 2 (6-3 over Liam Puttergill and Aleska Mardjonovic) and Daniel Dudockin and Juan Batalla at No. 3 (6-4 over Coby McCaig and Manroop Saini).

In singles play, it was the Nos. 4-6 spots which came through for the Pack to clinch the match. At No. 4, Benn defeated Saini, 6-3, 6-1, while at No. 5, Dudockin got a 6-0, 6-4 win over Puttergill. Zisswiller rounded it out at No. 6 with a 6-0, 6-3 win over McCaig.
