Nevada duels San Jose State in 2022 finale Thursday

Reno, Nev. - Nevada women's basketball takes on San Jose State on Thursday at 3 p.m. at Lawlor Events Center in the Pack's final game of the 2022 calendar year and Mountain West opener.

Larry Burnett will have the call on 94.1 FM and 1450 AM, with a 20 minute pregame show prior to tipoff. Fans can also listen live online through the Varsity Network. The game will be available to watch on Nevada Sports Net and live stats can be accessed through Sidearm.

Nevada has had one fourth of its 2022-23 roster register at least one career 20-point outing. Most recently, graduate student Megan Ormiston has scored over 20 points in two out of her last three outings. She registered a career-high 26 points on Dec. 11 against Santa Clara and dropped 21 points in the Pack's next game on Dec. 17 against Oregon State. Guards Audrey Roden and Victoria Davis have also captured games with at least 20 points.

Nevada was predicted to finish sixth in the conference, accumulating 142 points in voting by the Mountain West coaches. It was Nevada's highest preseason predicted order of finish under head coach Amanda Levens. Defending Mountain West champions UNLV were predicted to finish first in the conference, receiving 26 first place votes. New Mexico, who received the final two first place votes, was predicted to finish second in the conference.

This year's Nevada women's basketball team ranks 85th in the nation and fifth in the Mountain West in steals per game with a 9.5 mark. Redshirt junior Alyssa Jimenez became the seventh player since 2013 to record 100 career steals. She is the fastest player since 2013 to reach that mark.

SCOUTING SAN JOSE STATE
San Jose State ended the non-conference portion of their schedule with a win against UC San Diego before falling to Hawaii prior to their Holiday break. The Spartans will be on the road for the first time since Dec. 13 and seek their first win away from San Jose since Nov. 19.

Jada Holland leads San Jose State, averaging 10.6 points per game while grabbing 2.6 rebounds per game to go with 33 assists this season. Marisa Davis-Jones is also a key player for San Jose State, starting in all 11 games and averaging 9.6 points per game in addition to 6.5 rebounds per game.
