Air Force defeats Nevada at Mackay Stadium

RENO, Nev. - Behind three first half goals, Air Force defeated Nevada women's soccer 3-1 on Thursday night at Mackay Stadium.

Fifth year goalkeeper Kendal Stovall, the program's career saves leader, accumulated nine saves on Thursday night. She now has 422 career saves.

Air Force scored the go-ahead goal in the opening minute, with Jenna Rubidoux finding the back of the net for the third time this season off the assist from Cassi Bych. Caeli Sherman gave the Falcons a 2-0 lead in the 28th minute thanks to her third goal of the season off assists from Bych and Hannah Johnson. Sherman scored her second goal of the match 11 minutes later off the assist from Peyton Farrell that allowed Air Force to take a three-goal lead at the half.

Nevada, however, fought to get back in the match by drawing a penalty kick four minutes into the second half. Senior midfielder Brooklyn Blake took the Pack's second penalty kick of the season and knocked the ball in the back of the net with ease to get Nevada on the board. The Pack attempted and converted at least two penalty kicks for the second consecutive year.

The Pack attempted to make up the deficit by firing three shots on goal in the second half, but Air Force came up with the saves and kept Nevada at bay to clinch the win.

Nevada wraps up its home portion of the season on Sunday at 12 p.m. against Colorado College. The Pack will honor all the seniors with a Senior Day presentation at 11:40 a.m.

Postgame Notes
