This Week in Wolf Pack Athletics

RENO, Nev. - It's a Blackout Week for Nevada Football as it hosts Colorado State Friday night at Mackay Stadium. A full weekend of action also includes Nevada Soccer home for a pair of critical conference matches, and Nevada Swimming & Diving hosting its Alumni Meet Saturday morning.

FOOTBALL
Nevada (2-3, 0-1 MW) returns to action after the first of its two scheduled byes this season, hosting Colorado State (0-4, 0-0 MW) Friday in a Blackout at Mackay Stadium. Friday's 7:30 p.m. PT contest will be aired on FS1 with Alex Faust (play-by-play) and Petros Papadakis (analyst) on the call.

The Wolf Pack Radio Network will call the game as well on ESPN 94.5 FM with John Ramey (play-by-play) and Mike Edwards (analyst) in the booth, with the 60-minute pregame show to begin at 6:30 p.m. PT.

WOMEN'S SOCCER
 
Nevada women's soccer returns home to Mackay Stadium for a pair of home games. The Pack takes on Wyoming on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. and Colorado State on Sunday at 1 p.m. Fifth year goalkeeper Kendal Stovall broke the program's career goalkeeper minutes record in the 59th minute in last Sunday's game at Fresno State, accumulating 6,686 minutes thus far. 

Thursday's match will be Mental Health Awareness Night/Pride Night and Sunday's contest is Kick Out Cancer/Pack The Mack/International Student Day. Mental Health Awareness Night/Pride Night will feature a Mental Health Awareness booth at Mackay Stadium, the opportunity for fans to get exclusive Nevada Wolf Pack pride gear and more.

Wyoming is currently tied with Nevada in the Mountain West standings with four points, looking to rebound from a two-goal defeat against Boise State last Sunday. Colorado State remains unbeaten in Mountain West play with one win and three ties heading into Thursday and has accumulated six points through the first four matches.

VOLLEYBALL
Nevada volleyball team will hit the road to continue conference play against Colorado State and Wyoming. The Pack will first travel to Fort Collins, Colo., to face the Rams on Thursday, Oct. 6, at 5 p.m. The Pack will then travel to Laramie, Wyo. for a game against Wyoming on Saturday, Oct. 8, with the match scheduled for 11 a.m.

The squad sits in ninth place of the Mountain West standings with a 7-8 record. Kayla Afoa sits second in the kills category with 239 in the season. Gabby McLaughlin also makes an appearance in the conference ranking sitting in eighth place with 186 kills. McLaughlin is also ranked eighth in service aces, with 21 in the season. 

Senior Andrea Alcaraz is also ranked in assists and digs categories of the conference individual leaders. Alcaraz sits in sixth with 518 assists and eighth with 203 digs. 

Freshman Jordan Schwartz continues to impact the net for the Pack as she is ranked fourth in the blocks category with 62 total blocks.

SWIM AND DIVE
The Nevada swim and dive team is excited to welcome all the alumnae back to the Lombardi pool once again for the alumni weekend on Oct. 7-8.

The weekend will start with a tailgate for the football game against the Colorado State Rams on Friday, Oct. 7. The location is set for the U lot where food will be provided starting at 5:30 p.m. The kickoff for the game is set for 7:30 and swim alumnae can purchase their tickets with a discount HERE.

The weekend will continue with the annual alumni meet at the Lombardi pool on Saturday, Oct. 8. The meet will start at 9 a.m. and will go until 10 a.m.

SOFTBALL 
The Nevada softball team continues to play fall ball as they head to Davis, Calif. for four games on Oct. 8-9. 

The Pack will first face Sonoma State on Saturday, Oct 8, at 1 p.m. followed by a game against UC Davis at 3:30 p.m.

On Sunday, Oct. 9, the squad will again face UC Davis at 10:30 a.m. followed by a game against Santa Clara at 1 p.m.

MEN'S GOLF
Nevada Men's Golf hosts the Wolf Pack Classic Monday-Tuesday, Oct. 10-11, at Hidden Valley Country Club. Action will begin with 36 holes Monday, starting with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.

The Pack will host a 12-team field that includes: BYU, Colorado, Fresno State, Loyola Marymount, New Mexico, San Diego, San Diego State, San Francisco, St. Mary's, UCLA, and UNLV.
