“When I Grow Up” game set for Dec. 8

RENO, Nev. - Nevada women's basketball will bring back its annual "When I Grow Up" game for the 2022-23 season.

The "When I Grow Up" game is set for Dec. 8 against Long Beach State at the Lawlor Events Center at 11 a.m. Doors will open at 9 a.m. and admission is free, sponsored by the Nell J Redfield Foundation.

In addition to the traditional in-game opportunities, the Pack will provide fun and educational activities for the students throughout the Lawlor Events Center concourse. Schools can register for the game here. The deadline to sign up is Tuesday, November 15.

Nevada will reinstate its annual "When I Grow Up" game for the first time since Dec. 10, 2019, defeating Stanislaus State 80-62 in front of a crowd of 3,812. The Pack have been victorious in their last six "When I Grow Up" games.

The Pack collected 20 wins in the 2021-22 season, the second-most victories in Nevada women's basketball history. After finishing third in the Mountain West Conference, Nevada was invited to the WBI for the second time under head coach Amanda Levens. Nevada returns nine players in 2022-23, including Mountain West All-Defensive Team selection and rising junior Alyssa Jimenez along with Mountain West All-Freshman Team guard Audrey Roden. Levens will begin the first year of her five-year contract extension this season.
