RENO, Nev. -Â Nevada quarterback
Carson Strong was named the Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week, Monday, following his performance in the Pack's 22-17 season-opening victory at California.
It is the third-such honor of Strong's career, and comes after the Vacaville, Calif., native threw for 312 yards and two touchdowns while completing 22-of-39 passes.
The 300-yard game was the ninth of Strong's career, and his two touchdown passes came over a 22-point Nevada run in which the Pack erased a 14-0 first-half deficit to take a 22-14 lead in the second half.
Nevada (1-0) opens its 2021 home slate this Saturday at Mackay Stadium, hosting Idaho State for a 7:30 p.m. kick. Tickets for the contest are availableÂ
