Reno, Nev. - The Nevada volleyball team falls during the first conference match against San Diego State on Thursday. The Pack fell in three sets, 29-27, 25-17 and 25-20, to the Aztecs at Virginia Street Gym. Nevada fell the season record to 3-9.Â
Leading the Pack was sophomore
Reka Monteleone with nine kills, followed by junior
Sydney Petersen with seven and senior
Kyla Waiters with five kills. Monteleone also scored two service aces. Junior
Andrea Alcaraz led the Pack in assists, recording 20 throughout the match. Senior
Kaila Spevak led the defense with 12 digs. Freshman
Sydney Wyman recorded five blocks, followed by Petersen with three and Waiters with two blocks.
The Nevada volleyball team will next take the in-state rivals UNLV for the Silver State series. The match will be a student appreciation and a blue-out game. Fans attending the match are encouraged to wear Nevada blue t-shirts. Giveaways and a serving contest for students are also going to be placed during the match.Â
