RENO, Nev. - The Nevada volleyball team drops both matches against Portland and Grand Canyon at the Idaho Tournament. In the morning match, the Pack fell against Portland 3-1, while in the afternoon 3-0 to Grand Canyon.
Nevada 1, Portland 3
Nevada won the first set, 25-23 but was not able to keep the momentum going losing the following sets 25-18, 25-22, and 25-21.
Kyla Waiters led the Pack in kills with a score of 13 points, recording a .433 hitting percentage.
Reka Monteleone continued where she left off last season by leading the Pack in service aces with a score of 4 points and tied in second with
Sydney Petersen on 11 kills during the match. Petersen scored a .364 hitting percentage.Â
Nevada 0, Grand Canyon 3
The Pack struggled in the offensive and suffers the first three-sets lost of the season against Grand Canyon with the final score being 25-12, 25-21, 25-14.
Nevada was able to make a comeback on set two but fell short at the end.
Leading the Pack was freshman
Sia Liilii with 7 kills, 1 service ace, and 2 blocks. The junior
Andrea Alcaraz was the leader in team assist with a score of 18, while senior
Kaila Spevak led the digs for the Pack with a score of 10.
Nevada will return tomorrow to wrap up the Idaho tournament at 10 a.m. against the host team Idaho. The match will be streamed by ESPN+ and live stats will be available through the
