RENO, Nev. – For the second time in her career, Nevada women's golf junior
Victoria Gailey has earned All-Mountain West second team honors.
Gailey also earned second team all-conference honors following her freshman season, where she set the single season program scoring record. It was Nevada's first all-conference honor since joining the Mountain West in 2012-13. Gailey is just the fourth golfer in the history of the women's golf program to earn multiple all-conference honors in their career.
During 17 rounds of play in the 2021 season, Gailey broke her own single season scoring record with a stroke average of 73.06, besting the previous average of 73.47. In March she captured the first win of her collegiate career, winning the BYU Spring Classic at 4-under par. Gailey totaled four top 15 finishes in the Wolf Pack's six events, grabbing all four top 15s in the last four events of the season. She concluded the year with a third place showing in the Mountain West Championship, finishing just two shots back of the winner. She recorded eight rounds at par or better, including tying her career-low of 68 at the BYU Spring Classic.
Through her three seasons with the Wolf Pack, Gailey has compiled a career scoring average of 73.68 which currently ranks her first all-time at Nevada. She is second all-time in career par or better rounds with 23 and is one of just seven players in program history to have won an individual event.
Gailey will head into the 2021-22 season with two years of eligibility remaining.
