Five members of the Pack earn All-MW honors

RENO, Nev. – Five members of the Nevada softball team have earned All-Mountain West honors, the conference announced on Wednesday.
 
Senior Sadaria McAlister and freshman Chelie Senini were named First Team All-Mountain West. Senior Haley Burda, sophomore Kendall Fritz and freshman Sam Oliver earned Mountain Second Team All-Mountain West accolades.
 
Sadaria McAlister - First Team All-Mountain West
McAlister has put together a standout senior season for the Pack, starting in all 37 games in center and batting .336. McAlister ranks first on the team in stolen bases, total bases, doubles, triples, slugging percentage and walks. McAlister also ranks second on the team in runs scored (27) and hits (40) and is third in batting average (.336). McAlister ranks second in the conference in stolen bases (22), third in doubles (10), fourth in on-base percentage (.433), fifth in triples (3), eighth in runs scored and ninth in batting average. In the series finale against New Mexico, McAlister tied her season-high three hits, going 3-for-3 with three runs and a stolen base. In addition, McAlister claimed program records in career stolen bases (53) and single season stolen bases (22). It is her second First Team All-Mountain West conference honor.
 
Chelie Senini - First Team All-Mountain West
Senini pieced together a breakthrough year as a freshman, starting in all 37 games in right and batting .331. Senini ranks third in the conference in hits (45), third in stolen bases (19), fourth in total plate appearances (146), sixth in runs scored (28) and 11th in batting average. Senini recorded a conference-only .349 batting average. In 37 games this season, Senini's 45 hits and 28 runs scored pace the Pack. She ranks second on the team in stolen bases, third in batting average, third in triples (2), third in total bases (51) and seventh in RBI (11). In 37 games in right, Senini has registered a .959 field percentage. Senini's 19 single season stolen bases are tied for second in program history. Senini recorded four games with a career-best three hits. It is Senini's first all-conference honor.
 
Haley Burda - Second Team All-Mountain West
Burda claimed her first all-conference accolade this season after leading the Pack to a 22-15 overall and 14-7 conference record. In 32 games, Burda is batting .311 with 28 hits, 23 RBI, 12 runs scored and three home runs. Behind the plate, Burda has registered a 1.000 fielding percentage. Additionally, Burda has posted a conference-only .349 batting average, which ranks second on the Nevada team. In Nevada's Mountain West opening series against San Diego State, Burda hit a walk-off home run to grab game two for the Pack. Burda has notched three multi-hit games in conference play. Burda has thrown out eight runners in conference play, which sits at third in the conference.
 
Kendall Fritz - Second Team All-Mountain West
Fritz tabbed her second all-conference honor after posting an 11-5 overall 6-3 conference-only record. Fritz ranks first in the conference in saves (four), fourth in strikeouts (110), fourth in wins (11), fifth in innings pitched (123.2), seventh in ERA (3.06) and seventh in opposing batting average (.255). Fritz has been named Mountain West Pitcher of the Week twice this season. Fritz is coming off a standout weekend where she went 2-0 and recorded a save, posting a 1.83 ERA in 15.1 innings with nine strikeouts and limiting UNLV to a .214 batting average. Fritz helped Nevada hand UNLV its first conference series sweep and series loss of the season. Fritz marked her 100th strikeout of the season on April 30 and 300th of her career against UNLV on May 8. Fritz has tossed two complete shutouts in conference play. Fritz also tossed 20.2 consecutive innings without allowing a run this spring.
 
Sam Oliver - Second Team All-Mountain West
The true freshman grabbed her first all-conference award after a standout conference performance this spring. In 14 conference games, Oliver has registered a .395 batting average with 15 hits, 13 RBI, four runs scored and three home runs while also tallying a .658 slugging percentage and .439 on-base percentage. Oliver recorded her first-career walk-off in Nevada's eight-inning, 4-3 win over Colorado State on April 18. Oliver has tallied five multi-hit games in conference play. She recorded her first-career home run in Nevada's series finale win over San Diego State on March 21. In 32 games this season, Oliver has registered a .310 batting average with 26 hits, 17 RBI, eight runs and three home runs. In addition, Oliver has tallied a .975 fielding percentage at first.
