FRESNO, Calif. - Nevada women's tennis came agonizingly close to its first win in Mountain West play Sunday, but fell in the sixth and deciding singles match in a 4-3 dual defeat to Utah State.

Tied at 3-3, the dual came down to the final contested match at No. 5 singles between Nevada's Selina Turulja and Utah State's Gabrielle Dekkers. Turulja captured the first set, 7-5, but Dekkers came back to take the final two sets, and the 5-7, 6-1, 6-3 dual-clinching victory.

For the second-straight match, Nevada (5-9, 0-8 MW) took the doubles point to get off to a strong start. Turulja and Cristina Moll Alles teamed up at No. 3 to defeat Utah State's (7-11, 2-6 MW) Dekkers and Annaliese Courtney, 6-3, and the Pack tandem of Milka Genkova and Mathilde Sarcelet clinched the point with a 6-3 victory over Zara Ryan and Naya Tillitt at No. 2.

In singles action, Sarcelet got her second win of the day, defeating Tillitt, 6-2, 6-3. Carla Del Barrio was also a winner, beating Renata Lombera, 6-3, 2-6, 6-3, at No. 3.

The Pack will close the regular season next weekend at McArthur Tennis Center, hosting Air Force Saturday at 10:30 a.m., then facing New Mexico Sunday, April 25, at 1:30 p.m.
