AUSTIN, TEXAS. – The Wolf Pack track and field team saw two of their athletes compete in the first day of the Texas Relays, which had one athlete move up the all-time list and another improve their all-time mark.
Both senior Lauren Green and junior Emily Costello competed in the 400 meter dash preliminary round. The pair have earned personal bests in this event during the current outdoor season. Green moved to ninth all-time at Nevada during the UNLV Invitation with her time of 56.14, while Costello improved her fourth all-time mark at the Sacramento State Tri-Meet with a time of 55.30.
Green finished the Texas Relays with a time of 55.66. This earned the senior a 15th place finish, and moved her up to seventh all-time at Nevada in the 400m dash. The time passing both Janita Jones' time of 56.10 and Brittany Mixie's time of 56.09.
Costello would finish the Texas Relays with a time of 55.07. Earning the junior a 10th place finish and earning her a new personal best in the event. Both Costello and Green would just miss qualifying for the finals, which took in the top-9 finishers.
The Wolf Pack will look to continue competing tomorrow in Texas in both the Texas Relays and the Bobcat Invitational.
