RENO, Nev. – The Nevada women's golf team is back in action early next week at the Gunrock Invitational, hosted by UC Davis.
 
The two-day, 54-hole tournament will be held at Del Paso Country Club in Sacramento, Calif. beginning on Monday. The event will conclude Tuesday with the final 18 holes. Del Paso Country Club has been the site of a number of major professional tournaments including the 1957 U.S. Women's Amateur, 1964 U.S. Senior Women's Amateur, 1976 U.S. Women's Amateur, 1982 U.S. Women's Open and 2015 U.S. Senior Open.
 
This marks the Wolf Pack's third consecutive appearance in this event as it earned a seventh place finish a year ago. Junior Victoria Gailey led the Pack returners at this event a year ago with a top 20 finish. Just one event into the 2021 season it was Gailey who also led the Wolf Pack in the team's first event, The Rebel Beach, tying for 21^st place. Sophomores Anitra Khoth and Leah John will tee it up alongside Gailey for the second time this season, and will be joined in the lineup by Kayla Nocum and Maddy Zunino, who are both making their 2021 debuts next week. Freshman Kathleen Keomahavong, who competed at The Rebel Beach, will also participate in the Gunrock Invitational but will be entered as an individual.
 
The field this year features 11 teams as the Pack will go up against Pac-12 foes California and Stanford, along with Mountain West foes Boise State and San Jose State.
