RENO, Nev. – The Nevada women's golf team is set to open the 2021 season early next week at The Rebel Beach, an event hosted by UNLV.
 
The Wolf Pack last competed March 10-11 of last year at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational in Hawai'i before having the remainder of the 2020 spring season and the 2020 fall season canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Nevada will now play a six-tournament spring schedule, starting on Monday with The Rebel Beach.
 
The two-day, 54-hole event will be held at Spanish Trail Country Club in Las Vegas beginning on Monday and will conclude Tuesday with the final 18 holes. The course will play at a par of 72 and a length of 6,400 yards. The Wolf Pack will be one of 13 teams entered in the field next week. Nevada will get an early look at how it stacks up around the Mountain West as Colorado State, Fresno State, New Mexico and UNLV are all set to compete in this event as well.
 
The Wolf Pack has competed in this event for the past three seasons, grabbing eighth place last year. Junior Victoria Gailey had a solid performance in 2019 as she tied for third place and shot two of her three rounds at par or better at this same golf course.
 
Gailey will be one of the five set to compete for the Wolf Pack next week. Joining Gailey in the lineup will be sophomores Anitra Khoth, Leah John and Kaitlin Fleiner and freshman Kathleen Keomahavong. This tournament will mark collegiate competition debuts for both Fleiner and Keomahavong.
