Fort Collins, Colo. - The Nevada volleyball team dropped its match against the Colorado State Rams on Thursday afternoon. The Rams went up 2-0 with final scores of 25-18 in both sets, to close the match in 3-0 after a victory of 25-15 in the third set.Â
Freshman Sia Liilii led the Pack with nine kills, in a .444 hitting percentage, five digs, and two blocks. Liilii was followed by senior Kyla Waiters, who recorded five kills, three digs, and one solo block.
Junior Andrea Alcaraz recorded 20 assists, three digs, two kills, and one service ace.Â
Senior Kaila Spevak led the Pack defense with 11 digs, and one assist.Â
As a team, the Pack recorded seven total blocks, 25 kills, in a .227 hitting percentage.Â
The Rams started the first set in a three-score run. The Pack was able to tie the game 4-4 but was not able to cut the margin until the 13-12 mark after a back-to-back service ace by Petersen. The Rams made a three-score run, after calling a timeout. The Rams continued on the lead, but and closed the set in 25-18.Â
In the second set, the Pack fought at the beginning of the set, keeping a close score up to the 7-7 mark. The Pack took a three-point lead, but the Rams tied the set 12-12. The Rams took the lead to close the set in 25-18.Â
The third set belonged to Colorado State from the jump, with the Rams pulling ahead 6-1 early. The Pack saved four match points, but the Rams closed the set in 25-11 and the match in 3-0.Â
