San Diego, Calif. - The Nevada volleyball dropped its match against the San Diego State Aztecs on Thursday afternoon. The Aztecs went up 2-0, after going 25-18 in both sets and closing the match in 3-0 after a 25-21 third set victory. 

Senior Kyla Waiters led the Pack with 10 kills. Waiters was followed by junior Sydney Petersen with seven kills and a .357 hitting percentage. Petersen also scored four out of the five total blocks the Pack scored as a team.

Junior Andrea Alcaraz led the Pack in assists after recording 28. Alcaraz also recorded seven digs, four kills, and one service ace.

Senior Kaila Spevak led the Pack defense with 11 digs and three assists.

The Aztecs took an early lead in the first and second set. The Pack held San Diego State within two points in the first set until the 10-8 mark. The Aztecs expanded their lead and closed the set in 25-18. 

Set two belonged to the Aztecs from the jump. The Pack put up a fight but was not able to reverse the score after a three-score run by the Aztecs early in the set. San Diego State closes the set at 25-18, going up 2-0 on the scoreboard. 

For the final set, Nevada reacted early and created a four-point lead in the set, but the squad was not able to hold off the Aztecs. San Diego State tied the game in 15-15 and took the lead to close the set in 25-21. 

The Nevada volleyball team will be back for its final match of the regular season on Nov. 20 at 5:30 p.m against in-state rivals UNLV. A live stream will be available through the Mountain West Network, and live stats will be available on the Nevada Wolf Pack website for the match.
