LAS VEGAS, Nev. - The Nevada volleyball team dropped its last match of the regular season against UNLV on Saturday afternoon. The Rebels went up 2-0, after closing the sets in 25-19 and 25-18 to close the match in 3-0 after a 25-12 victory in the third set. The Nevada volleyball team concludes the season in a 3-26 record.
Sophomore Reka Monteleone and senior Kyla Waiters led the Pack offense with eight kills each. Monteleone had a .250 hitting percentage, while Waiters had a .273.
Junior, Andrea Alcaraz recorded 22 assists, one dig, and one kill. While senior, Kaila Spevak led the defense with eight digs.Â
As a team, the Pack recorded 26 kills in a .232 hitting percentage, 24 assists, and 21 digs.
In the first set, the Rebels takes an early lead, after scoring six points in a row. The Pack was able to cut the margin to 9-7, after some errors by the Rebels. UNLV puts a three-score run to extend the lead and close the set in 25-19.Â
A different situation happened in the second set. The Pack was able to keep the Rebels close in the scoreboard, until the 12-10 mark. The Rebels increased their lead after a three-score run to close the set in 25-18, going up 2-0 in the match.Â
The final set belonged to the Rebels from the jump after a five-score run. The Pack was able to cut the margin to 16-8, but UNLV closed the game 25-12, and the match in 3-0.
