COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Nevada swim wraps up the first day of the Art Adamson Invitational on Wednesday afternoon. With two more days of competition, the Pack is currently placed fifth after competing in the 200 free relay, 500 free, 200 IM, 50 free, and 400 medley relay.
In the 200 free relay, the Nevada A team, composed of Josien Wijkhuijs, Caitlyn McHugh, Nicolette Jasko, and Colette Berkenfield, finished in eighth with a time of 1:33.85, while the Nevada B team finished 17th (1:38.58).
In the 500 free, the Pack saw two top 24 finishers, with senior McHugh being the lone representative in the A final. McHugh finished in seventh with a time of 4:51.39. Senior Reese Lamph finished in 20th improving her time from the morning prelims (5:00.16).
Nevada showed up strong in the 200 IM placing three in the top 24 with seniors, Julia Adamczyk, Gianni Pitto, and Donna dePolo. Adamczyk came in 14th, with a time of 2:03.38. She was followed by dePolo (2:02.57) in 18th and Pitto (2:03.18) in 19th.Â
Closing the individual events for the night, Wijkhuijs, with a time of 23.30, and Berkenfield (23.47) finished 13th and 21st, respectively in the 50 free.
To finish the day, the Pack swam the 400 medley relay. The Nevada A team finished in eighth, with a time of 3:42.35, Nevada B in 15th (3:49.46), and Nevada C in 17th (3:55.85).
The Pack will be back in the pool tomorrow, Nov. 18 at 7:30 a.m. with prelims and finals beginning at 3:30 p.m.
