Reno, Nev. - The Nevada Volleyball team falls to Colorado State on Thursday night. The Pack was able to put pressure on set two and three but it was not able to finish against the Rams, and ended up getting swept in 25-17, 25-23 and 29-27. 

Leading the Pack was senior Kyla Waiters with 12 kills, a hitting percentage of .241 and four block assists. Junior Andrea Alcaraz led the Pack in assists with a total of 16, and also digs with a total of 12. Redshirt senior Chelsea Vaughan had13 assists throughout the match. Junior Sydney Petersen had also four block assists and a hitting percentage of .214. Senior Kaila Spevak recorded 9 digs, 21 receptions and four assists. 

In the first set, Nevada was able to hold the set tied against the Rams in 6-6, but a three-run score by the Rams led the team to close the set in 25-17. Freshman Sia Liilii and Waiters led the Pack with three kills. Alcaraz recorded four assists and three digs, while Spevak had six receptions and two digs. Freshman Sydney Wyman and redshirt junior, Savanna Maker recorded two blocks for the Pack. 

Coming into set two, the Pack held the lead after a great sequence of attacks by the Pack offense. The Rams were able to tie the game in 22-22 and closed the set with a kill in 25-23. Waiters and Liilii continue to lead the Pack with four kills. Both Alcaraz and Vaughan had five assists, while Spevak recorded four digs and six receptions on the set. 

Nevada led set three and had great chances to lead the match into a fourth set, but was not able to finish. The Pack had a seven point lead, and the Rams were able to tie the game in 23-23. Nevada had three set points, but Colorado State closed the match in 29-27.

The Nevada volleyball team is hosting Wyoming this Saturday at 12 p.m. in the Virginia Street Gym. A live stream will be available through the Mountain West Network, and live stats will be available on the Nevada Wolf Pack website. 

The match will be marked as the Redfield match and a celebration of Hispanic Latinx Month, where the first 50 fans will receive a Heritage Latinx t-shirt. 

The match will also be a crossover with the football, where fans with tickets for the evening game against New Mexico State will be able to get in the volleyball match for free, with the proof of tickets purchases.
