In the first set, the Lobos had an early lead, after a four-score run. The Pack was able to tie the game in 9-9 and get the lead in 12-11, but the Lobos reversed the score and took the lead. New Mexico made a five-score run, and close out the set in 25-18.Â
The same situation happened in the second set where Nevada was able to tie the set in 9-9, and from that point on, it was a back-and-forth game until the 16-15 mark for the Lobos. New Mexico made a three-score run and closed the set in 25-22.Â
A different story happened in the third set, where Nevada took the lead after a five-score run, forcing New Mexico to call a timeout in the 10-4 mark. The Pack continued on the lead, up to 22-18, where the Lobos made five straight points, forcing Nevada to call a timeout. The Lobos tied the game in 24-24, and from that point on, it was again a back-and-forth game. Nevada fought hard stopping New Mexico to close the match three times, picking up two set points for themselves, but the Lobos closed the game 32-30 and the match in 3-0.Â
