RENO, Nev. - Nevada women's basketball junior Amaya West has been selected as the December Wolf Pack Student-Athlete of the Month.
 
The Mesa, Ariz. native currently holds a 3.739 cumulative GPA and is majoring in finance. West hopes to finish her undergraduate degree within three years and plans to begin the MBA program. Her ultimate goal is to become a financial planner.
 
West is an active member on SAAC and continues to post one of the highest GPA's on her team every semester.

On the court this season West has scored in double figures in three of the four games she has played, including a season-high 14 points at Sacramento State. During that same game against the Hornets she fell just one rebound shy of posting the first double-double of her career. Through her four games played she is averaging 10.3 points and 5.3 rebounds per game and is perfect from the free throw line.
