COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. – At the final day of the Air Force Invitational, all of the Wolf Pack athletes competed, which saw senior Emma Dern earn a personal best in the shot put.
Dern began the meet at the shot put early in the morning. The senior finished the event with an impressive distance of 13.10 meters, which beats her old personal best of 12.81m that was set at the Mountain West Indoor Championships back in 2018. Dern would earn a first place finish in her flight group and an overall finish of seventh place.
Also in the morning, senior Nicola Ader, junior Hanah Smrt, and freshman Alisha Pawlowski competed in the high jump. Ader finished the day with a height of 1.78m, which was two centimeters better than her height on day one. Pawlowski finished the day with a height of 1.70m. This giving her the same height she cleared on day one. Smrt finished the day with no height.
Junior Gabby Fraser finished the day by competing in the triple jump. The junior would finish with a distance of 11.46m. The distance was only .45m short of her ninth place Nevada all-time distance of 11.91m.
The Pack will look to come back to Air Force and compete in the Championship at the Peak from Feb. 25-27.
