COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. – After watching their fellow teammates compete yesterday, senior Emma Dern and junior Gabby Fraser competed in their respective events at the Air Force Invitational.
Dern started the day in the weight throw, which was the first time the senior has competed since the Boise State Challenge in February. Dern would finish 28th overall with a distance of 12.16 meters, which is only .79m off her personal best of 12.95m. The senior looks to compete tomorrow in the shot put where she has a personal best of 12.81m.
Fraser then competed in the long jump later in the day. The junior finished the day with a distance of 5.15m, earning her a 14th place finish. This distance was only .23m off of her personal best of 5.39m. Fraser looks to compete in the triple jump tomorrow, where she ranks ninth all-time at Nevada.
All Nevada athletes will compete in the third and final day tomorrow. Junior Hanah Smrt, senior Nicola Ader, and freshman Alisha Pawlowski will compete in the high jump that starts at 9 a.m. pacific.
