LUBBOCK, Texas - Nevada (7-3, 2-1 MW) will go for the series sweep Saturday against New Mexico (3-3, 0-3 MW) in Lubbock, Texas.

Saturday's game will air on CBS Sports Network. It will also be broadcast in Reno on ESPN Radio 94.5 FM with John Ramey on the call.

IN THE OPENER
The Pack captured Thursday's series opener, 68-54, thanks in part to a 23-8 run to end the first half.

Desmond Cambridge, Jr. (24 points), and Grant Sherfield (20 points) each hit the 20-point mark, while Zane Meeks pulled down 10 rebounds.

STRONG TRANSFER CONTRIBUTION
The Pack has been bolstered this season by the contributions of a trio of transfers, as sophomore guard Grant Sherfield (previously of Wichita State), redshirt junior guard Desmond Cambridge, Jr. (Brown), and redshirt sophomore forward Warren Washington (Oregon State) are three of the team's top four scorers.

The trio's contribution to Nevada's success so far in 2020-21 was evident again in Thursday night's win over New Mexico, as Sherfield, Cambridge, Jr., and Washington combined to score 54 of the Pack's 68 points.

All three players have started every game this season for the Pack, with Sherfield leading the way at 16.1 points per game, Cambridge, Jr., at 15.4 per game, and Washington scoring 8.8 per game to go with 5.7 rebounds.

Sherfield, who transferred to Nevada from Wichita State and was granted immediate eligibility ahead of the 2020-21 campaign, needed just two games to create a memorable moment for Wolf Pack fans, pulling up and hitting the game-winning 3-pointer from the top of the arc with six seconds remaining in Nov. 26's 69-66 win at Nebraska.

STRONG STARTS
The Pack has shown this season that it can start games well, leading its opponents at halftime in nine of 10 games, and by an average margin of 5.9 points.

The only contest in which Nevada trailed at the break was Dec. 2 against San Francisco, when it faced a 40-32 deficit.

Nevada is 7-2 in the nine games in which it has led at the break, with the defeats being Dec. 11 at Grand Canyon (Pack led, 44-43, at halftime) and Dec. 20 against Air Force (33-24 Nevada halftime lead).

THE LINE MAKES A DIFFERENCE
Nevada's concentration at the free-throw line made a big difference in Thursday's win over New Mexico, as the Pack set season highs in free throws made (24) and attempted (31). The team's performance at the stripe was even more crucial to the victory, as New Mexico, by contrast, made just 15 of its 35 free-throw attempts in the 14-point Pack win.

Freshman Tré Coleman was a perfect 8-for-8 from the line for the Pack, while Desmond Cambridge, Jr., and Grant Sherfield each went 5-for-6.

BIG BIRTHDAY PERFORMANCES
Two members of the Pack celebrated their respective birthdays either the day before or on Thursday, with Desmond Cambridge, Jr.'s, big day Wednesday, Dec. 30, and freshman Tré Coleman's on gameday.

And each celebrant benefited from the birthday boost in Thursday's contest, as Cambridge, Jr., scored a game-high 24 points, and Coleman was a perfect 8-for-8 from the line, finishing with eight points and four rebounds in the Nevada victory.
