RENO, Nev. – Formerly a graduate assistant with the Nevada women's basketball program, Halie Bergman has been promoted to a full-time role as the team's director of player development.
 
"Halie is so deserving of this opportunity," said head coach Amanda Levens. "She has worked tirelessly as a graduate assistant over the last two years and we are fortunate to hire her in a full-time position on our staff.  I am excited to be able to promote from within and especially excited to have a women's basketball alum on our staff."
 
Bergman has been serving as one of the program's graduate assistants since the 2018-19 season and will begin her transition to director of player development immediately. Her duties in this new role will include film breakdown, assisting the recruiting coordinator, and assisting the director of operations, among other tasks. Bergman has earned two degrees at Nevada and is working towards a third, receiving her bachelor's degree in business management, her first master's in educational leadership and will earn her second master's in justice management.
 
Bergman is no stranger to the Nevada women's basketball program having spent four years as a student-athlete for the Pack from 2014-18. A transfer from Pacific, Bergman played three full seasons for Nevada and saw time in 95 games. During her senior year, she started in all but one contest and averaged 6.4 points per game while hitting a career-best 44 3-pointers and dishing out a career-high 58 assists. Bergman ranks 10th in program history with 114 3-pointers made in her career.
 
Nevada is back in action this weekend with a pair of games against Wyoming this Friday and Sunday.
