RENO, Nev. - Four members of the University of Nevada swimming & diving team have been named to the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America Scholar All-America team. The Wolf Pack added the success in the classroom to what they accomplished in the pool this past season, placing second at the 2020 Mountain West Swimming & Diving Championship meet.
The Scholar All-America team is based on grade point average and athletic achievement. Julia Adamczyk, Donna dePolo, Andressa Cholodovskis and Wiktoria Samula were all named Honorable Mention All-American after achieving a NCAA "B" time standard.
A sophomore, Adamczyk, was the top finisher for the Pack in the 400 IM and 200 fly earning her All-Mountain West honors. Also competed in the 200 IM at the championships and finished with a career best time that moved her into seventh all-time at Nevada in the event.
dePolo, a junior from Reno, Nev. started the season by qualifying for the Olympic trials in the 100 breast and ended with qualifying in the 200 breast as well. She helped seal the school record in the 200-medley relay at the 2020 MW Championships along with her individual school record in the 100 breast and earning All-MW honors.
The only Nevada senior, Cholodovskis, also earned All-MW honors on her journey to be the top scorer for the Pack at the MW Championships. The Brazil native saw the podium seven times after scoring 220 points combined at the meet. She was also named the 2020 Wolf Pack Scholar Athlete of the Year and was the recipient for the Ruth Russell Award.
Samula, a sophomore, notched NCAA B cut times in the 100 and 200 breast events at the MW Championship meet while scoring 65 points and earning All-MW honors. The Poland native moved to second all-time at Nevada in the 200 breast.
