FRESNO, Calif. - The University of Nevada (7-6) men's tennis team placed sixth at the Fresno State Invitational this weekend.  Saturda the Wolf Pack split two matches falling 4-0 to Gonzaga (9-2) and in the evening match defeated Lamar (4-10) 4-1. Sunday the Pack fell 4-1 to Hawai'i (7-5) in the match for fifth place and ended up sixth in the invitational.

Nevada will compete in the Golden State Invitational next week.  UC Davis and Sacramento State will host the event.

In the Gonzaga match the Bulldogs scored singles wins on courts 2, 3, 5 and 6 to secure the 4-0 victory.  The doubles competition was not played.

The Pack responded with a 4-1 victory over Lamar in the last match of Friday.  In doubles play Isaac Nortey and Julien Evrard won 6-3 on court 1 and Delmas N'Tcha and Gvidas Motuzas scored a 6-0 victory on Court 2. 

In singles play N'tcha at No. 3 singles, Motuzas at No. 5 singles and Benjamin Campi on Court 6 all won in straight sets to secure the win for the Wolf Pack.

Sunday in the Hawai'i match Evrard dominated at No. 1 singles with a 6-3, 6-2 victory to earn Nevada its only point of the day.  The Rainbow Warriors won the doubles point and singles matches on courts 3, 5, and 6 to take the match 4-1.
