SACRAMENTO – The University of Nevada (5-5) women's tennis team fell 4-3 at Sacramento State (1-7) on Friday at the Sacrament State Tennis Courts.  The loss dropped the Wolf Pack to 5-5 on the season while the Hornets are 1-7.  Next action for the Pack is March 6 at San Francisco.

With the match tied at 3-3 the Hornets got a 6-4, 6-4 win on court 2 from Ege Tomey over the Pack's Roos van Reek to clinch the match 4-3.  

Nevada trailed most of the match dropping the doubles point. Arina Gumerova and van Reek scored a 6-2 victory at No. 2 doubles in the first completed match of the day.  Sac State's duo of Grace Dodd and Jenna Doran defeated Nevada's No. 1 team of Anastasia Luneva and Anastaysha Gorbacheva 6-2 to even the doubles competition.  Paige Alter and Jayden Nielsen clinched the point with a 6-4 victory on Court 3 over the Wolf Pack team of Selina Turulja and Ksenia Shikanova.

Gorbacheva evened the score at 1-1 with a dominating 6-1, 6-0 win on court 6.  The Hornets moved ahead 2-1 after Alter defeated Turulja 6-2, 6-2 at No. 5 singles.

Nevada's Liza Mintusova evened the score once again with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Nielsen on Court 3.  Sac State took a 3-2 lead as Doran scored a 6-2, 6-3 victory at No. 1 singles over Shikanova.  The Pack would not go away as Gumerova defeated Tsveti Yotova in straight sets 6-3, 6-3 to setup the deciding match.  The Hornets' Tomey sealed the victory for the Hornets with her straight sets win at No. 2 singles.
