RENO, Nev. – The Nevada athletics department generated more than $130,000 in support from nearly 700 donors during it's We Are Nevada Giving Tuesday challenge earlier this week, the Wolf Pack Athletic Association announced today.
Gifts to the We Are Nevada campaign came from 28 states and seven different countries as the challenge impacted each of Nevada's sport programs and the department's Pack Excellence Fund.
"We are thankful for our friends, fans and alumni who continue to make an investment in the lives of our student-athletes," said Craig FInk, senior associate athletics director, development. "This two-day effort gives us a boost of momentum for the We Are Nevada Campaign as we enter the stretch run towards our campaign deadline of December 31st."
The participation challenge was launched with an anonymous gift of $10,000, which will be designated to the top three teams from the men's and women's side who generated the most gifts during the two-day challenge. The winners of the We Are Nevada Giving Tuesday Challenge are:
Men's:
1st Place ($2,500) – Golf
2nd Place ($1,500) – Basketball
3rd Place ($1,000) – Football
Women's:
1st Place ($2,500) – Volleyball
2nd Place ($1,500) – Cheer
3rd Place ($1,000) – Golf
