Following a season delay and a number of scheduling changes, year two of the
Steve Alford era at Nevada is set to begin on Wednesday as the Wolf Pack men's basketball team takes on North Dakota State at the Golden Window Classic hosted by Nebraska in Lincoln.
Â
Wednesday's game is set to tip at noon Pacific time from Pinnacle Bank Arena. There is no television broadcast for the game. John Ramey will have the radio call on the Wolf Pack Radio Network, with the broadcast beginning on the flagship 94.5 FM at 11:30 a.m. in Northern Nevada. The broadcast is also available via the TuneIn mobile app.
Â
Nevada will play two games at the event, taking on the host Cornhuskers on Thursday at 11 a.m. PT. That game will be broadcast by the Big Ten Network.
Â
Junior forward
Robby Robinson is the lone returning starter for the new-look Wolf Pack, which will has three four-year transfers and four first-year players making up a large class of newcomers.
Â
Along with Robinson, sophomore forwards K.J. Hymes Jr. and
Zane Meeks along with guard
Kane Milling saw significant minutes in 2019-20, the first year under Alford. Among those who should see their Nevada debut this week are three transfers in forward
Warren Washington (Oregon State), guard
Grant Sherfield (Wichita State) and guard Desmond Cambridge Jr. (Brown).
Â
Nevada went 19-12 last season and tied for second in the Mountain West. The Wolf Pack fell in the quarterfinals of the Mountain West Championships and any plans of a postseason beyond that was wiped out by the COIVD-19 outbreak in March.
