RENO, Nev. – After three postseason berths in a row, the Nevada softball team reported for practice on Tuesday, January 14. The Pack will be looking to continue the trend of postseason appearances and contend for a Mountain West Championship.
In total, Nevada has 51 games scheduled for the upcoming season, including 25 contests prior to the start of conference play with a mid-week doubleheader to give them 27 non-conference matchups. The Pack will also square up against four Power-5 opponents and seven teams that participated in the 2019 NCAA Tournament, including a game against the 2019 National Championship runner-up team, Oklahoma.
Nevada returns both of its All-Conference players from a year ago with senior, Sadaria McAlister and sophomore, Dallas Millwood. The Pack also welcomes six newcomers on its 2020 roster, all of whom will look to make an impact for the upcoming season.
The season opens at the Puerto Vallarta College Challenge in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. The three-day event starts with Nevada playing BYU and Oklahoma on Feb. 6, and continues through Feb. 8 with games against Long Beach State and Utah Valley on the seventh and a contest with Oregon on the final day of the tournament. Nevada will begin home play when it hosts the Wolf Pack Classic, featuring Sacramento State, Weber State and Pacific on March 6-8 before starting conference play on the road against UNLV.
