Nevada falls to Hawaii in overtime 1-0

Stovall sets career-high with 12 saves

RENO, Nev. – Despite a valiant effort by the visiting Wolf Pack (1-2), Nevada dropped a heartbreaker to the host Rainbow Wahine (1-2) in overtime 1-0. Goalkeeper Kendal Stovall saved a career-best 12 shots in the contest, tying the ninth-most all time in program history.

Hawaii's Kelci Sumida scored the game-winner in the 96th minute to earn the victory for the Rainbow Wahine. Nevada will wrap up its time at the Rainbow Wahine Soccer Invitational when it battles Sacramento State at 6:30 p.m. PT on Monday.

Payton Lieb led Nevada with two shots on goal in the match. Stovall, Hannah Souza, Brittany Wiehe, Audrey Barham and Sara Olanda played the full 96 minutes.

Nevada was outshot 18-8 in the match, but in the first 90 minutes the Pack had the best scoring chance of the contest. In the waning seconds of the first half, Kendall Riley rocketed a ball that was ricochet back to her off the left post that nearly put Nevada up 1-0 at the half.

Stovall's big day put her at the top of the Mountain West Conference with 20 saves, while also boasting a .870 save percentage by only allowing three goals in three games played.

Nevada will face the Hornets on Monday to wrap up its week-long trip on O'ahu. Live stats of the match will be available via StatBroadcast.
