Wolf Pack swim and dive announces 2019-2020 schedule

RENO, Nev. - The University of Nevada women's swimming and diving program has set their schedule for the 2019-20 season with a Mountain West Championship in mind. Last year the Pack finished second at the championship meet and ultimately sent one diver to the NCAA Championships, the team will look to continue the upward trend and the positive momentum from the 2018-19 season into this year.

"We have a lot of great meets scheduled for the upcoming season," said head coach Brendon Bray. "I have tried to gradually increase our level of competition each year, so adding new dual meets against Washington State and Utah will help us be at our best at the end of the year. Outside of the two new meets we will have tough duals against our traditional competition within the Mountain West, as well as regional teams that have been scheduled in past seasons."

The journey to Athens begins on Sept. 27 in Pullman, Wash., as the team competes against Washington State and the 2019 Mountain West Championship team, San Diego State in a small invitational. The next day will feature the Pack and the Cougars in a swim-only dual meet.

In the month of October, the Wolf Pack travels to Las Vegas to take on the Rebels of UNLV in the annual Silver State series matchup on Oct. 11 at 5 pm. Following the UNLV dual meet, Fresno State comes to Reno, Oct. 25 also a 5 pm start. The very next day the Pack will host a non-conference dual meet with UC Davis at 11 am in preparation for a tough home meet with Boise State on Nov. 2.

The team will split up for the next weekend, Nov. 21-23, where the swim team will head to Houston, Texas to participate in the annual Phill Hansel Invite while the divers travel to Flagstaff, Ariz. for the Northern Arizona Diving Invite. These invitationals are the first opportunity the Pack has to compete in a championship environment with over a dozen top tier programs at both locations.

Following the invitationals, Nevada will travel to Cal State East Bay in a dual meet on Dec. 7 at 11 am to wrap up the first half of the season.

Returning from a five-week break, the Pack will head to Salt Lake City, Utah and compete against Pac-12 opponents, Utah and Washington State in dual meets on January 17 at 5 pm. On Jan. 31 at 5 pm, Nevada welcomes the New Mexico Lobos for a final home dual meet before heading off to the Mountain West Championships.

The Mountain West Championships will take place in Minneapolis, Minn., hosted by the University of Minnesota, again this year and will run from Feb. 19 until Feb. 22. The following week, March 9-11, NCAA Zone Diving Championships will be held in Flagstaff, Ariz., before everyone meets in Athens, Ga. on March 18-21 for the NCAA Championships, hosted by the University of Georgia.
