Foster signed by Pittsburgh Pirates

Fourth Pack player to sign with professional team

RENO, Nev. – Former Nevada baseball catcher Kaleb Foster signed with the Pittsburgh Pirates this week, the fourth member of the Wolf Pack to sign with a team this year. The Gardnerville, Nev. native will join former Pack teammate Grant Ford in the Pirates' organization, after Ford was selected in the fifth round of the 2019 MLB Draft.

In his four-year career in the Silver & Blue, Foster tallied a .231 batting average with 23 doubles, seven triples, nine home runs and 57 RBI. He had a breakout year in 2018, as he was named First-Team All-Mountain West and slashed .310 with six bombs.

In four seasons, Foster saw action in 139 games while making 114 starts, primarily behind the dish and as the designated hitter. Two of Foster's three homers this year came against the No. 27 pick in the 2019 MLB Draft in Ryan Jensen. The Fresno State ace had only surrendered three bombs all season.

Aside from Ford also going to the Pirates, Ryan Anderson signed with the New York Yankees after being drafted in the 12th round and Bradley Bonnenfant signed with the Kansas City Royals.
