RENO, Nev. – Miki'ala Maio, a transfer from Salt Lake Community College, has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Wolf Pack women's basketball program in 2019-20. Maio will have two years of eligibility remaining.
 
"We are excited for Miki'ala to join our Pack," said head coach Amanda Levens. "She comes from an excellent program at Salt Lake CC, which has a strong tradition of success. Miki'ala will bring experience to our young backcourt and be ready to make an immediate impact."
 
Maio, a 5-9 guard from Honolulu, Hawai'i, played two seasons at Salt Lake CC and helped the Bruins win 51 games in that span. In her two seasons at SLCC, the Bruins claimed back-to-back Region 18 titles, advancing to the NJCAA tournament both years. In her sophomore season, Maio received NJCAA All-America second team honors and was named the Region 18 MVP following the regular season.
 
This most recent season, Maio ranked second on the Bruins averaging 12.9 points per game and shot 43.6 percent from the field. For her career, she played in 61 games for SLCC and scored 12.0 points per game and added 4.5 rebounds per contest. She connected on 44.0 percent of her shots and totaled 158 assists and 102 steals in two years.
 
She joins two other transfers, Nia Alexander and Marguerite Effa, and three incoming freshmen as the new members of the Wolf Pack for the 2019-20 season.
