Nevada sweeps home doubleheader

Down Boise State and Sonoma State

RENO, Nev. – The University of Nevada (10-8, 2-3 MW) men's tennis team swept a home doubleheader at the McArthur Tennis Center today.  The Wolf Pack defeated Boise State (11-7, 1-4 MW) 4-2 in a Mountain West match to get the day started.  In the second match the Pack defeated Sonoma State (8-5) 4-1 in non-conference play.
 
The Pack improved to 10-8 and 2-3 in MW play.  BSU is 11-7 and 1-4 in conference play and the Seawolves fell to 8-5.  Nevada hosts Utah State on Sunday at 2 p.m.
 
Nevada jumped to a 3-0 lead in the BSU match and went on to win 4-2. Julien Evrard and Kostya Nesterenko cruised to a 6-1 victory at No. 1 doubles and Daniel Dudockin teamed with Delmas N'tcha for a 6-2 victory on court 3 to secure the doubles point.
 
Jeremy Merville's 6-1, 6-4 win at No. 3 doubles earned the Pack its second point of the day.  Evrard won 6-3, 6-2 on court 1 and it was 3-0.
 
BSU's Jack Heslin and Simon Arca Costas won their matches to close the gap to 3-2.  Dudockin clinched the Pack's victory with a 7-5, 3-6 and 6-1 win on court 6.
 
In the Sonoma State match the Pack once again led 3-0 but won 4-1 in the second match of the day.
 
The Pack won all three doubles matches starting with 6-2 victory by Benjamin Campi and Dylan Levitt 6-2 on court 3.  Julien Evrard and Kostya Nesterenko clinched the point with a 6-4 victory on court 1.  Matvey Radionov and Gvidas Motuzas won the final doubles match 6-3 on court 2.
 
Radionov put the Pack up 2-0 with a straight sets 6-2, 6-4 victory on court 3 while Merville won 6-3, 6-4 on court 2 and it was 3-0.  The Seawolves Josh Liu scored a 6-3, 6-4 win over Motuzas to give SSU its only point of the match.  Nesterenko clinched the victory with a 7-5, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles as the Pack swept the doubleheader.
