RENO, Nev. – The University of Nevada (7-6) women's tennis team dropped its home opener at the McArthur Tennis Center to Sacramento State (4-8) by a score of 4-3 on Friday.  The Wolf Pack is now 7-6 on the season and the Hornets improved to 4-8.

Friday's match came down to the final singles match on Court 5 and it was determined in a tiebreaker.  The Hornets Sofi Wicker won the first set 7-6 (7-4) and clinched the match with a 7-6 (7-2) victory over the Pack's Selina Turulja.
 
The Pack started the day by securing the doubles point as Turulja / Maria Tatarnikova scored a 6-1 victory at No. 3 doubles.  Marta Ruedas and Anastaysha Gorbacheva clinched the point with a 6-1 victory on Court 1.
 
Ruedas made it 2-0 with a straight set victory 6-3, 6-1 over the Hornets' Frana Ugarkovic on Court 6.  Sac State won the next two matches at No. 1 and 2 singles to tie the score at 2-2.
 
The Hornets went ahead 3-2 after Jenna Dorian claimed a 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 4 singles over the Pack's Tatarnikova.  Roos van Reek's three-set victory 6-3, 3-6 and 6-1 on Court 3 tied the match at 3-3.  The Hornets victory at No. 5 singles clinched the win.
