SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The Nevada women's track and field team completed day two of the San Diego State Aztec Invitational today. Highlighting the day was sophomore
Nicola Ader's personal record in the long jump to move into the top 10 all time at Nevada.
Sophomore
Nicola Ader moved into third all-time at Nevada in the long jump with a leap of 19' 9" (6.02 m). The mark is good for seventh in the west region and 13th in the country. The jump is over a foot further than her previous personal record of 18" 7.75" (5.68 m). Freshman
Anna Sommerfeld broke her personal record in the long jump as well, with a jump of 17' 11.25" (5.47 m). Ader would take second in the event and Sommerfeld would take ninth.
The Pack saw two personal records broken in the 100m hurdles, with sophomore
Nicola Ader and freshman
Anna Sommerfeld finishing in 14.31 and 14.78 seconds, respectively. Ader's time was good for seventh in the event. The time is tied with teammate
Andrea Stark for third best in the Mountain West this season. Stark finished 16th in the event with a time of 14.72, and sophomore
Agnese Mulatero took 13th with a time of 14.51.
Nevada had two sprinters finish in the top seven of the 400m, with freshman
Emily Costello taking sixth and sophomore
Lauren Green taking seventh. Going into this weekend, Costello's time of 55.93 is second in the Mountain West. Green's time of 56.46 is third. Costello's time also moves her into sixth all-time at Nevada in the event.
Two athletes set personal records in the discus, led by freshman Keena Murphy throwing 134' 2" (40.89 m) to finish 23rd. Sophomore
Tina Lao threw 130' 3" (39.71 m) to finish 27th.
Two members of the Pack made it into the top 10 of the 800m, with sophomore
Eliza McCall taking ninth with a time of 2:14.23, and senior
Zanae Jones taking 10
th with a time of 2:15.41.
Junior
Gaby Palmer took eighth in the pole vault, with a max height of 13' 2.25" (4.02 m).
Sophomore
Alex Bohlman took fourth overall in the javelin with a throw of 147' 7" (44.98 m). In the 200m, Sommerfeld's personal record time of 25.77 seconds was good for 22nd.
Next up for the Pack will be another trip to California. The team will be at Stanford and San Francisco State for the Stanford Invitational and San Francisco Distance Carnival.
