Caleb Martin has been selected as the United States Basketball Writers Association District VIII Player of the Year for the second year in a row. Fellow senior
Jordan Caroline has joined him on the All-District VIII team for the second consecutive season. Both were named the Mountain West first team by the conference media on Monday.
Caleb Martin tops the Pack scoring 19.6 points per game and has netted 1,288 points at Nevada which is 17th on the career list. In his college career he has scored 1,839 points. Three times this season he was selected as the MW Player of the Week. In 29-of-31 games he scored in double figures which includes a 33-point game at Utah and a 30-point contest at home against Boise State.
Caroline leads the Pack averaging 9.6 rebounds per game and was second scoring 17.7 points per contest. He set the MW record with his 44 career double-doubles and was second in the conference with 18 double-doubles this season. In 29-of-31 games he scored in double figures with a season-high of 40 coming at Colorado State. Currently he ranks sixth in scoring with 1,728 points and is fifth with 939 rebounds at Nevada. In his college career he has scored 2,031 points and grabbed 1,145 rebounds. Four times this season and seven time in his career he has been named the MW Player of the Week.
