COLORADO STATE AT NEVADA PREVIEW
RENO, Nev. – Nevada (8-5, 1-0 MW) resumes Mountain West play hosting Colorado State (9-6, 0-2 MW) on Wednesday at 7 p.m. PT. The Wolf Pack won its only conference game this season downing Air Force 100-85 on the road. The Rams lost at home to San Diego State (79-57) and at Boise State (75-64).
The Rams are led by preseason MW selection Nico Carvacho who is averaging a double-double scoring 13.2 points and collects 10.4 rebounds per game. Isaiah Stevens is the other CSU player scoring in double figures at 11.9 points per game.
The Pack continues to be led by three double figures scorers in
Jalen Harris (17.2 ppg),
Jazz Johnson (16.9 ppg) and
Lindsey Drew (13 ppg). Senior
Nisré Zouzoua is contributing 9.4 points per game.
In addition to leading the Pack in scoring Harris tops the team grabbing 6.9 rebounds per game and is tied with Drew for first on the squad dishing out four assists per outing. Harris and Johnson ranks fourth and sixth in the MW in scoring. Johnson leads the MW shooting 44.7 percent from behind the arc, 87.8 percent at the free throw line and making 3.2 3s per game.

Nevada leads the series 14-9 and has won the last seven meetings with CSU.

HARRIS LEADING THE PACK
Junior
Jalen Harris has scored in double figures in the last nine games including a career and team season-high 31 points at Air Force. The 31 points is tied for the second most points by a player in the MW this season. He scored 22 of the points in the first half.
Harris leads the Pack in scoring (17.2 ppg), rebounding (6.9 rpg) and is tied with
Lindsey Drew for tops on the team dishing out four assists per game. The 17.2 points is fourth in the Mountain West. The assist numbers rank fifth in the MW and the rebounds is seventh.
Four times in the last eight games he has scored 20 or more points including the 31 points at Air Force. In the win over Santa Clara he posted his first career double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. His game-high eight assists left him two shy of a triple double.
In four games he posted game highs in points, five times he posted a game-high in assists and four times a game-high in rebounds.
From the field he is shooting 39.9 percent and 29.8 percent from behind the arc. At the free throw line he had a streak of 19 in a row snapped at BYU going 5-of-8. He has made 35 of his last 38 free throws. Overall is shooting 86.4 percent at the free throw line to rank second on the team and in the conference.
Harris injured his foot in the season opener with Utah playing just 8 minutes and missed the LMU game. He returned to the lineup against UT Arlington and scored a game-high 24 points in the victory.
DREW DOING IT ALL IN FINAL SEASON AT NEVADA
The versatile
Lindsey Drew is doing it once again in his fifth and final season at Nevada. Drew missed all last year after rupturing his right achilles tendon at Boise State on
Feb. 14, 2018.
The do everything guard returned with a flair scoring a career-high 30 points in his senior debut against Utah. He also grabbed six rebounds and dished out eight assists. In the next game he scored 24 points, had nine rebounds and five assists in a win over Loyola Marymount. Both point totals were game highs.
Nine times he has scored in double figures, two more and it would be his most double figures scoring games in a season. He is tied for first on the team in assists (4.0 apg) and is second in rebounding (6.1 rpg). From the field he is shooting a team best 52.5 percent which ranks second in the Mountain West. In total he is ranked in nine categories in the conference.
Twice he has posted double-doubles with 10 points and 10 rebounds in the Paradise Jam Championship game win over Bowling Green. Against TSU he scored 18 points and had 10 rebounds for his second double-double of the season and fourth of his career.
In four games he posted highs in assists; vs. Utah (8), LMU (7), UTA (4) and at Air Force (6). In another four games he posted game highs in rebounds; LMU (9), vs. Bowling Green (10), at Air Force (8) and TSU (10).
JOHNSON KNOCKING DOWN THE 3S

Jazz Johnson has been knocking down the 3-pointers at a high rate this season having made 42-of-94. The 42 made 3s is second in the MW and 17th nationally while his 3.2 per game tops the MW and is 20th in NCAA I.
Johnson's 44.7 percent shooting from behind the arc is 23rd in the country and first in the MW. He tops the MW shooting 87.8 percent at the free throw line which is 46th in the country.
At the Paradise Jam he made 60 percent of his 3-pointers connecting on 15-of-25 in three games. In the title game he made 7-of-10. The seven made tied his career-high that also occurred at Air Force last season and is tied for the most made by a player in the MW this season. He has made a 3-pointer in each game this season and three or more in nine contests.
Johnson is second on the team and is sixth in the MW averaging 16.9 points per game. Four times he has scored 20 or more points; 20 vs. LMU, 26 vs. USC, 25 vs. BGSU and 20 vs. SCU. In the USC, BGSU and SCU games the point totals were game highs.
He ranks in the top 50 in four NCAA statistical categories.
In the win over TSU he scored his 1,300th point and now sits at 1,322 points in 111 career games. At Portland he scored 740 of those points.
ZOUZOUA PROVIDING SPARK OFF THE BENCH
Senior
Nisré Zouzoua has provided a spark off the bench in his second year in the program. Zouzoua is fourth on the team averaging 9.4 points per game and is tied for third dishing out 1.9 assists per game.
In five of the last nine games Zouzoua has scored in double figures and six times on the season. He scored nine points in each of the first two games of the season which were then Nevada career highs. Against UT Arlington he nearly doubled that netting 16 points, making 6-of-8 shots from the field of which 3-of-5 were from behind the arc.
At the Paradise Jam he averaged 11 points per game. He scored 11 points in the win over Fordham and 15 in the victory against Valparaiso.
MOUNTAIN WEST PLAY RESUMES
Mountain West play continues this week as all 11 teams are in action. Four team head into the second week of conference play with undefeated MW records. San Diego State, Utah State and New Mexico State are all 2-0. Nevada and UNLV are 1-0 having played just one conference game each and both received a bye the opening week.
Boise State and Air Force are 1-1. SJSU, Colorado State, Wyoming and Fresno State are all 0-2.

NEVADA FALLS TO SAINT MARY'S AT CHASE CENTER
SAN FRANCISCO (AP) Malik Fitts and Jordan Ford combined to score 31 of their 44 points in the second half and Saint Mary's used a late 12-2 run to beat Nevada 68-63 on Saturday night at the Al Attles Classic.
Fitts finished with 23 points on 8-of-16 shooting and Ford had 17 of his 21 after the break. Matthias Tass and Tommy Kuhse added 11 points apiece for Saint Mary's (12-2).
Fitts made back-to-back baskets and Ford hit a jumper to give the Gaels a 60-57 lead with 3:30 to play. After
Robby Robinson made a layup to pull Nevada within a point, Kuhse made a layup and Fitts and Ford each made a basket to make it 66-59 with 54 seconds left and Saint Mary's held on from there.
Jazz Johnson led the Wolf Pack (8-5) with 22 points.
Saint Mary's made just three 3-pointers and shot 15% from behind the arc - both season lows. The Gaels went into the game averaging 9.9 made 3-pointers per game and leading the nation in 3-point field-goal percentage at 47.3.

Nevada completes its two-game MW homestand hosting Boise State (9-6, 1-1 MW) at 3 p.m. on Saturday Jan. 4. The Broncos host Wyoming on Wednesday before traveling to face the Pack at Lawlor Events Center.
BSU has won its last three games and split its two MW games this season. The Broncos lost at New Mexico (80-78) and defeated Colorado State (75-64) at home.
