RENO, Nev. – The dates for the 2020 men's basketball luncheons with first-year head coach
Steve Alford have been set for Monday, Jan. 27 and Thur. Feb. 20 at the Silver Legacy Resort and Casino. The luncheons begin at 11:30 a.m. with coach Alford giving supporters recaps and analysis from the previous games and a preview of future opponents.
The Wolf Pack luncheons are held in support of the men's basketball program and will include a gourmet buffet prepared by the Silver Legacy. No RSVP is required and fans can pay the $20 admission price at the door.
The Pack had a successful stretch winning the 2019 Paradise Jam as junior
Jalen Harris earned MVP honors. Senior
Jazz Johnson joined him on the all-tournament team. Alford became the first head coach to win two Paradise Jam championships with the first coming during his time at New Mexico. All three wins in the U.S. Virgin Islands were by double figures and the Pack added two more double figure victories to extend the win streak to five games.
Harris and senior
Lindsey Drew both have garnered Mountain West Player of the Week honors this season. The duo of Harris and Johnson rank in the top 10 in the MW in scoring. Johnson is among the national leaders in 3-pointers made, attempted and 3-point shooting percentage.
The Pack stands at 7-4 overall and 1-0 in MW play after a 100-85 road victory at Air Force. Nevada hosts Texas Southern on Dec. 18 at 7 p.m. at Lawlor Events Center.
