Final Matches for 2019 Volleyball Season

Volleyball set to host Wyoming and Colorado State for final matches of the season

RENO, Nev. - The Nevada volleyball team (17-11, 7-9) is ready for its final two matches of the season as it hosts the top two teams in the Mountain West. The Pack welcomes Wyoming and No. 11 Colorado State to close out the season in Virginia Street Gym. 

The Cowgirls of Wyoming match up with the Pack on Thursday, Nov. 21 at 6 pm. The match will be a White Out Wyoming match and the first 100 fans in attendance will receive a white t-shirt. There will also be concession promos, including $2 hot dogs and $1 soda going on for the entire match. 

Following the Wyoming match, nationally-ranked Colorado State comes to Reno for a noon first serve on Nov. 23. Saturday will be Senior Day as the team and coaching staff will recognize the three seniors in Dalyn Burns, Ryan Blackwood and Camryn Rocha post-match. 

Wyoming (19-8, 14-2 MW) is coming off a pair of sweeps in the final home matches of the regular season, defeating Boise State and Utah State. No. 11 Colorado State (26-1, 16-0) enter the week undefeated in conference play including back-to-back sweeps of Utah State and Boise State last week. The Rams have already clinched at least a share of the Mountain West title and secured an NCAA bid after the win over Boise State. 

The Pack is looking to bounce back from two tough losses at UNLV and at New Mexico last Saturday in Albuquerque, NM. Nevada has beat Wyoming, 2 out of the last 3 times in Reno dating back to 2016 however the Pack has never beat Colorado State in Reno. 

The Cowgirls are led by KC McMahon and Jackie McBride on the offensive side; McBride is the reigning Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week after putting up 19 kills and a .441 hitting percentage last week. Defensively, Madi Fields leads the team in digs with 468 digs while McBride leads with 132 blocks.

No. 11 Colorado State showcases Breanna Runnels who leads the Rams with 346 kills while Kristie Hillyer leads with a .401 hitting percentage and 124 blocks. Hillyer is the current Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week after posting 13 blocks on the week including nine against Boise State.
